Tim Woollings is Professor of Physical Climate Science in the Department of Physics at the University of Oxford, and a Physics Fellow at Pembroke College, Oxford, having studied Meteorology at the University of Reading. His interests centre around the large-scale dynamics and circulation of the atmosphere, including jet streams, storm tracks, blocking, polar circulation and tropical-extratropical interaction. He is currently the Oxford Joint Chair of the Met Office Academic Partnership and Vice-President of the International Commission for Dynamical Meteorology. He wrote a popular science book ‘Jet Stream: A journey through our changing climate’, which was awarded the Louis J Battan author’s prize from the American Meteorological Society.
